Ooooohhh.....a box! What could possibly be in it???
I have no idea. I just can't imagine what's in there.
Surprise!!! Cute kids!!!
Very few things in life are constant, but one thing is for sure: if you put a big box in the same room with small children, the small children WILL end up in the box. It's a force as constant as gravity.
In an effort to let Sophie develop her big sister skills (and because I knew it would be funny) I let her do a diaper change completely by herself. I was right, it was very funny! (And, Jonas is showing off one of his new tricks: grabbing his toes.)
Many of you are acquainted with Chuck, Sophie's dog. (Side story: Actually, this is Chuck #3. Whenever we find this exact dog in a store we buy one, and then tell Sophie that Chuck is taking a "magic bath" in the washing machine. She helps me put Chuck in the washing machine, and then I add the "magic powder" (baking soda) that will make Chuck extra soft and silky. Between washer and dryer, old Chuck is switched for new Chuck, and then voila!!! -- a warm, soft, silky, "good as new" Chuck emerges from the dryer! It's awesome. And, we keep a stockpile of the old Chucks just in case we ever need them.) Anyway, lately Sophie loves to dress Chuck up (or dress up Chuck? Either way it sounds bad, sorry.) and she really loves to do his hair with all of her hair accessories. She also ties things around his neck for a leash and drags him around the house. She also dresses him up in her clothes, Jonas's clothes including diapers, and even Dalia's clothes when we go to her house! The whole thing is hilarious, as is her entire obsession with this dog! It's all thanks to Colton who bought her the original Chuck in the Chicago O'Hare airport -- thanks for countless hours of fun and love Colton! And she has a silly little smug face in this picture.
Yes, that's a raccoon on our roof. After a few months of absence, the raccoons have returned with a vengeance. Remember the suet bird feeder on which I found the giant slug? Well, we got home from church on Sunday just in time to see a raccoon dragging said suet feeder off into the forest, never to be seen again! Not just the suet -- but the entire feeder! It was chained to a pole! Smart little buggers. We see them at all hours of the day and night. They just hang out on our patio and watch us through the sliding glass door sometimes. We have never fed them, but someone around here obviously must be. And who knows how often they're hanging out on the roof?! Crazy raccoons.
