Here's a bunch of stuff from May: a broad overview of the month, if you will.
Sophie has learned to dress herself, resulting in some WOW outfits like this one. Lots of stripes.
Jonas standing up by himself! 1 second after this picture was taken, he fell flat on his face because both of his parents were so focused on taking this cute picture, they didn't see him falling. Oops.
Dalia's birthday party! Britni made this adorable (and delicious) penguin cake for the penguin-themed party. She's so good at that kind of stuff. You're awesome Britni!
Sophie enjoying the penguin cake. Black frosting is awesome!
This is the herd of small children at the party.
Sophie the photographer -- she took this picture of Jonas and me, and it's actually pretty good!
One Saturday, Danny went to his gaming group, and I took the kids to the beach. It was HOT HOT HOT, like 90 degrees or something! We nearly melted to death!!!! Yeah, you get pretty wimpy when you live here. But, we had so much fun at the beach! Digging in the sand, burying our feet, wading out in the water, and getting sand all over ourselves!
I asked Sophie what we should do on such a hot, hot day, and she said we should get an ice cream cone. So, after the beach we went to Mcdonald's for a cool treat. I love this picture! It looks so All-American with the red/white/blue and cute girl eating ice cream!
Jonas trick! He can roll from his back onto both of his sides, and nearly onto his tummy, but not quite yet. He also can roll from tummy to back occasionally.
Look at this monster slug!!!! SICK!!!!!!!! I found this monster crawling/munching on our suet bird feeder. Now you know why I have to launch full-scale attacks against these things! Sophie couldn't take her eyes off the slug to look at the camera, I think she was worried it could sneak up on her.
SICK!!!!!!!! After the photo shoot, we put the slug on the ground and covered him in slug poison so he would DIE -- yes, DIE. I really hate slugs. I looked out there like 10 minutes later and he was GONE! Not dead. Bad. Not good to have a giant slug on the loose. I tried to hunt him down, but I couldn't figure out where he went. Who knew slugs could move that quickly? But, the next morning, look who I found on the fence......
AHA!!!!! He tried to come back, and was surely heading for my tender little petunia plants! But, this time I made SURE he wouldn't escape. I'm happy to report the threat of the giant slug has been neutralized.

Oh, I miss you guys! And I want to squeeze that chubby baby:) They are growing up way too fast--tell them to slow down until we move back West! Hope all is well with the adults too...call us soon.
Love,
Keri
Okay, Abby, what is Danny's "gaming group"? I'm curious now...is it board games or game, like animals and hunting game, or video games...or (heaven forbid) role-playing games--it's okay, it's okay, to each his own...I am just curious now. :) Those pictures are so cute!
I'm glad you took care of your slug problem. I remember once when I was in high school we found a big slug outside and I heard about this myth of what happens to a slug when you pour salt on it, so I did and then...I felt really bad afterwards because it sure seemed like slug torture to me. Anyway, you guys are all adorable.
Abby, you're pretty passionate about those slugs! Vicious, even.
Looks like May was a fun month. I love that picture of Sophie in the water. I miss living there and miss being so close to the water.
Your kids are so cute...I wish we lived closer so they could play together now that Elley is old enough to "play" with other kids..
