We went to the zoo on Saturday. We also went a couple weekends ago, and decided to get a membership, so I'm sure we'll be going to the zoo a lot this summer! And, if you know Sophie, you know she LOVES animals and can't get enough of them. So, we made it down there in good time, and then took 30 minutes to poach a parking spot! Our zoo obviously suffers from inadequate parking. With a jump into the super-short "members only" line -- we were in!
I know, I know -- you're thinking "this looks like you're on the African Savannah!" Well, I promise we're just in Woodland Park Zoo.
Highlight of this weekend's trip -- Willawong Station. This is the little enclosure where they keep 150 Australian birds and sell you $1 seed sticks to bribe the birds with. Sophie was in HEAVEN. Often when she's outside at home, or the park, or the Trader Joe's parking lot, Sophie will point her finger into the air and hold very still. She's "waiting for that bird to come land on her." Sadly, none of the seagulls in local parking lots have ever landed on her. So this was like a dream come true.

This is how Jonas spent the day at the zoo -- riding in comfort and sucking on any finger that came near his mouth.
I've said what an entertaining dancer Sophie is....but I've had a hard time getting a decent video of her doing it. She's actually pretty camera shy. There's a stage in the middle of a big grassy area at the zoo. She told us to "come watch the show", and she danced a little bit. I'll still try to get some better dancing footage, but here you go....

Sophie's dancing made me laugh out loud. She's such a cutie!
