No Excuses

I know, I know, I know -- I've been terrible about updating this for the past couple months! I could give you all my reasons, but I'll save you the trouble and just promise that I'll do better. As it is, here are some long overdue pictures that are kind of old. Christmas pictures are yet to come, because Danny was messing with the computer again and took off a program that I need to put up our newest pictures. There, that's one excuse -- Danny messing with the computer and taking programs off, rearranging things, etc... But, those will be coming soon, I promise.

Well, the holidays are over and we're back to "normal" life. Danny is back in school, taking a couple classes, and working on his master's thesis project. I'm back to my normal routine of gym, playgroup, mom & me, grocery shopping, laundry, etc... To tell you the truth, it's nice to be back to everyday life after the holiday rush. Not that we didn't enjoy the break, because we really did. We spent Christmas with my family at their new home in St. George, where they moved only 3 days before Christmas! It was so nice to have them so close! This was our first Christmas without going to the airport. We spent time after Christmas with Danny's family in Riverton. Unfortunately Sophie came down with the stomach flu on Christmas morning, and wasn't over it for about the next week. But, somehow she still managed to play with all of her new toys and soak up all of the extra attention. What a trooper. After the New Year, we took another trip to St. George and went to Zion National Park with my mom and Maggie for a little day hike to try out the baby carrier we got from Danny's parents for Christmas. It was a really fun day, with beautiful scenery, and PERFECT weather. (pictures will be on the next post)

Well, Sophie has plenty of new tricks, but here are the top 10:
1. first word: cracker -- go figure.
2. taking a couple wobbly steps
3. hiding toys in strange places around the house
4. can identify her toes on command
5. throwing things a considerable distance, especially food
6. giving loves -- hugs, kisses, and pats on the back (to people, favorite stuffed animals, and
sippy cups)
7. early signs of parental manipulation
8. pointing at things she wants
9. signing "milk", and saying "num, num"
10. can identify people's noses and stick her finger up them

Enjoy the pictures!

First taste of snow, yum.

As some of you know, when Danny was a baby, he was obsessed with emptying cupboards and then crawling inside them. Well, it appears to be genetic.

One night, Sophie decided to rearrange all of her clothes. She began by throwing them all over her room, and then left it at that.

She's getting a little overly dramatic about demanding food.

Sophie's first sleepover! My friend Kristi went out with her husband on her birthday and had us watch Gwen. They were out late, so the girls got to sleep in the same room until Kristi and Blaine got in. It was fun.

This one's especially for you Mom. It's our take on the "baby in the laundry basket picture".

Playing dress up with Mommy's boots.

Cute pictures, Abby, or should I say Sophie! I love seeing how much Sophie is growing and all the little funny things that babies do. It make me so excited that soon we'll be showing our baby pics. I'm not telling you anything, but we're going to try for a baby this year!!!!
