After much clamoring for new Sophia = Wisdom, I've given you some gems to ponder over in the sidebar. Honestly, she says SO much amazing stuff anymore, I have a REALLY hard time singling things out that I want to post! She talks nonstop from dawn til dusk and it's all amazing material.
So, Halloween has come and gone! Here are some of our Halloween memories for 2008:
Our THREE children! Jamie, Sophie, and Jonas -- all dressed up for the ward trunk-or-treat the week before Halloween. Jamie is an 80's rollerderby girl, Sophie is a kitty-ballerina, and Jonas is the traditional Karpowitz beaver (Danny's first Halloween costume, made by his mom. Also worn by Sophie on her first Halloween)
On the REAL Halloween, we took Sophie to trick or treat at her teacher's house. She had been talking about doing this for 3 weeks and was SO excited. When we got there, and Mrs. Crossen opened the door...Sophie kind of froze. I think it was confusing to see her teacher outside of school. And by the way, Mrs. Crossen is fantastic.
Then we went to a party at the Sorenson's house. Andrea is a professional photographer, and she is amazing. (She's the one who introduced me to newborn cocoons, which I now make and sell on my etsy) She was taking pictures all night, just snapping all kinds of random shots. And, she took a family picture of each family who came. All the following pictures are from her, obviously, since they look so great!
Here we are! Danny was Nacho Libre, and I couldn't think of anything good, so I went with the old standby -- breathtakingly ugly 80's housewife outfit.
That beaver costume is WELL insulated, so the beaver mostly hung out in his onesie and little black nose. Can you believe this picture? I can't wait to have her take our family pictures for real...without black eyeliner noses.
Sophie and Kinsley were all about the Karaoke! They didn't know any of the songs, but they would just mumble incoherently into the microphones.
Yeah, I'm stuffing my face with a cookie, that's just how I roll -- but look how adorable Jonas is! He is such a little angel baby.
One couple at the party were the Faucetts, and they came dressed as...wait for it.......faucets!!! They made these silly faucet hats, and Sophie just loved them and wanted to wear them all night. The Faucetts used to be her nursery teachers, and they are so fun and Sophie really loves them. Another couple, the Walkers, came dressed as walkers (workout clothes, walking shoes, headbands, etc). How cute, right? Well what are you supposed to do with a name like Karpowitz?

i'm adding my own sophia wisdom (some i've overheard and some i've seen written on the notepad on the fridge).
sophie (i'm assuming talking to abby): jonas is tormenting me and i'm not in the mood.
sophie (very late one saturday night when i was babysitting and we called my mom and dad): my mom told sophie that grandpa was working on the boat and sophie immediately asked for grandpa. when my dad got on the phone sophie started asking about the boat and my dad said well maybe we can go next summer when you come visit...and sophie replied: well, i'll have to check with my mom but i think it will be okay.
sophie (talking on the phone to keri...this is the sophie's side of the conversation): it's almost time for snow...when you come for christmas we can work on a snowman...a big giant snowball...and we can give it a carrot nose...i'll dig in the snow for the carrots...alright well when you come we'll be workin' on that snowman!
sophie (danny and sophie went to see madagascar and later that night drove together to pick up a babysitter so danny and abby could go out): dad i can't stop thinking about madagascar...it's stuck in my head!
abby also says sophie likes to start conversation by saying 'i have some good news and i have some bad news.'
as you can guess...i think i'm pretty lucky to get to live so close to danny and abby and adorably sophie and jonas!
Loooove all the photos! And Abby, what's your etsy shop? I need a few things. :)
