HOT HOT HOT

Hello Everyone! Hope you all had a great 4th of July. Ours was good, though we really missed our families this year. It was about 106 degrees outside, so we didn't really want to hang out at a park and barbecue, obviously! And, most of the friends we've made down here are Canadians, (just living here for the summer to sell pest control) so they weren't that excited about the holiday. So, we went swimming in the pool in the morning, and went to dinner at Red Robin so we could still have a hamburger and feel "American", and then we drove around town to find a perfect view of the fireworks. We ended up watching them in the parking lot of Tempe High School -- it was the perfect view, and it was a REALLY big fireworks display. On Saturday before the 4th, we took a trip up to Paulden to see my cousins the Stewarts (my mom's sister's family). We spent most of the day and evening with them, treating us to a delicious barbecue dinner and ice cream for dessert. It was so fun to see everyone, and to enjoy the cooler temperatures up in northern Arizona! And, Sophie fell in love with my cousin Nick. He really made her laugh. Right now, Danny's youngest sister, Jamie is visiting us for the week. We've been doing LOTS of shopping! (I need to get out of this place before I shop myself to death! Seriously, the shopping in Phoenix is amazing.) We've really enjoyed having some time with Jamie all to ourselves. And Jamie even got to witness a new Sophie trick -- rolling from stomach to back! Well, our time in AZ is almost at an end, believe it or not. Hopefully we'll make it another week without melting. The heat is starting to get even hotter, and a little old as well. We're leaving a week from Saturday (leaving on the 23rd, to be exact). From here we'll drive to California for a visit with Danny's two California uncles (Kim and Dale), and a Disneyland trip with my family. While in LA we'll also get to see the National Geographic King Tut Exhibit at the museum, which should be incredible! Then it's back to Utah! Well, enjoy the pictures.
